Dana White’s ‘Power Slap’ league app may not be doing so well! In past interviews, the UFC boss has indicated that the league has been soaring to massive heights. Last year, speaking on the ‘Rock Sugar Magic’ podcast, the UFC boss revealed, “I haven’t said this publicly yet to anybody, this is a $450M business in nine months.”

But according to a recent revelation by Bob Menery on the Overdogs podcast, the ‘Power Slap’ app isn’t as popular as the UFC head honcho might have claimed. He broke down how the numbers stated by White do not divulge the whole story about the ‘popularity’ of the new venture.

During the same conversation on ‘Rock Sugar Magic’ podcast in 2023, Dana White stated the following about ‘Power Slap’, “This thing is a f**king juggernaut,” and claimed that it had surpassed the combined social media reach of major sports leagues like the NFL, NBA, and the UFC.

But that may not be the entire story. According to Bob Menery, “He had this little rinky-dink f*king app that didn’t even f**king function or work called Power Slap. He’s always like so many players are playing this f**king thing. There was nobody f*king playing that thing.”

Menery also disclosed a bet with White, challenging him to reach the top rankings on the app. He bet White $10,000 if he reached the top 10 and $20,000 if he secured the number one spot. Surprisingly, Menery climbed to ninth place, shocking White.

He stated, “I’m in f**king ninth place and he’s like “Oh f**k”. I knew the Power Slap mobile app was struggling. I would love to see the f**king numbers but you know what’s funny? Dana just won’t show it to me, its amazing.”

The revelation raised questions about the authenticity and popularity of the Power Slap app. And with no clear numbers provided by the UFC boss as revealed by Menery, it remains to be seen what the future holds for ‘Power Slap’.

And it’s not just ‘Power Slap’ that has been under scrutiny as the UFC boss recently also shared his thoughts on an upcoming boxing bout that has left the combat sports world in an uproar!

White does not approve of Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

UFC CEO Dana White has recently come out and slammed the upcoming boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. The boxing legend, Tyson, will be taking on social media star turned boxer, Jake Paul on July 20 in Texas.

As such, during the UFC 299 post-fight press conference, the UFC boss was asked to share his thoughts on the matchup. He stated, “I don’t like to see guys fighting at (that age). It’d be a 31-year age difference during that fight. You guys know what I think of that stuff.”

White, a friend of Tyson, refrained from outright criticism but questioned the wisdom of Tyson competing at his age. He also revealed what he thinks about Netflix, which will be airing the fight live for its subscribers, and its foray into live sports. He revealed, “I think they’re late to the game, but they are a force.”

In essence, White’s remarks go beyond mere disapproval of the Tyson vs. Paul fight, offering insights into the complexities of modern sports entertainment. They underscored the need for adaptability in an industry undergoing rapid transformation, where digital platforms wield increasing influence.
