UFC 297’s main event fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis has divided the MMA world into two sections. One section feels Dricus Du Plessis did enough to deserve the split decision victory in his first UFC title fight. On the other hand, the opposite section believes that despite the decision, Strickland won the bout with his impressive striking skills.

However, no one can deny that this was one of recent history’s closest and most competitive UFC title fights. Shortly after the PPV, the UFC CEO expressed honest opinions about the UFC 297 main event. And just like always, Dana White did not hesitate before stating his true feelings.

As expected, the first question that came in front of Dana White in the post-fight press conference was about his opinions on the Strickland vs Du Plessis fight. Answering it, the UFC CEO had some intriguing comments. “It’s funny, we were just looking at how the media had scored it”, he said.

Further, the UFC head also mentioned his detailed breakout of the middleweight title fight. “I had it two-to-two, going into the last round. And I thought Strickland won the last round”, he added. After claiming that he thought ‘Tarzan’ won this fight, White also talked about the reason behind his opinion.

“Guys who were sitting at the same table had it the other way. It was a close fight. I thought Strickland was great in the first 2 rounds. The jabs were beautiful. You don’t see jabs like that in MMA”. Moreover, UFC color commentator and White’s close friend Joe Rogan had similar opinions about this fight.
