Conor McGregor‘s return almost seems like a myth at some points. McGregor recently announced his return in the coming Summer and said that it was “all systems go”. Nevertheless, there’s still no contract that’s been announced or reported between him and Michael Chandler.

Now, one UFC insider believes that he shouldn’t return at all. At least perhaps not for a while! McGregor was busy for a long time doing the press rounds for his new film, Road House. Does that even save enough time to be working for the cage? Here’s more on this insider’s take.

Conor McGregor last fought Dustin Poirier and ended up breaking his shin against him. This was back in 2021. Ever since then, the fighter has been out and away from competition. Many would believe that he’s been out for long enough but not Josh Thomson from the Weighin In podcast.

“I think I would be more impressed with knowing the dedication the time being put in,” Thomson said, “but I’m sorry you can’t take someone who’s been removed coming off of the nasty injury that he’s coming off of, and also compound that with the drinking, the partying, the clubbing, the all the whatever.”

“It is the traveling all around it does have an effect on your body and for him to get back in even if he gets back in the gym two to three times a day the first month is just getting him body his body into shape to go through a camp. . .” He went on to say that going into camp in that condition meant that it wasn’t him getting any better, it was just him getting into camp.

Clearly, Thomson has put a lot of weight into his thoughts. But perhaps the decision is for Dana White to make whether or not to bring his athlete back. And for now, it would appear as if McGregor’s return hangs in limbo as everyone awaits a contract being signed. Especially, Michael Chandler.

Michael Chandler may have done the most trying to sell this one fight that is yet to even happen. He went to WWE to sell it, and he’s always on social media selling it. And in a recent interview, he warned McGregor to prepare for the worst beating he’s ever seen.

He promised ‘The Notorious’ an “as* whopping of biblical proportions”, and asked him to head back into the gym. It looks like the Irishman has a lot of people wanting him to go to the gym. Luckily for him, his yacht has a gym and perhaps he doesn’t even need that.
