UFC welterweight Nate Diaz has effectively shut down the idea of facing Khamzat Chimaev as the last fight on his existing contract. Stockton’s second son spoke to TMZ and laid to rest the marquee rumor that he would scrap against Chimaev. Chiefly, not only fans but also UFC President Dana White talked about how Diaz vs Chimaev was potentially in the works.

However, all of that came crashing down as Nate Diaz said he isn’t interested to face a ‘rookie’ with four fights. He has been in the UFC for over a decade and seemingly wants a blockbuster bout on his way out of the door. While it’s possible he could re-sign, the general consensus is that he might walk away from the UFC.

“They’re coming at me with (Chimaev) and I’m like, ‘Hold on, don’t disrespect me like that, trying to offer me a fight with a rookie,’” Diaz said. “I’m cool. You got four fights in the UFC. Don’t even talk my name. … There’s levels to this and I don’t even want to hear his name.” [h/t MMA Junkie]
