Dustin Poirier is one of the greatest lightweight Mixed Martial artists to ever step foot into the octagon. The Louisiana native has had an illustrious career that boasts of wins over the best of the best.

‘The Diamond’ might be up to one of the toughest tests of his life in a bout against the Stockton sensation, Nate Diaz. However, Poirier has made it clear that he wants to make a spectacle out of his fight against Diaz and will do the unthinkable if gets in there with him.

On Sunday, while replying to a fan’s query regarding his match with Diaz, Poirier claimed he would prefer to finish Diaz rather than take the fight to the distance and win with a decision. “I’d stop him,” Poirier Tweeted.

However, Nate Diaz is not someone to take lightly and certainly not with knockouts. The Stockton native has only been stopped twice in his UFC career, with the most recent knockout that came against Jorge Masvidal still being argued as a doctor stoppage.

But Poirier does have an impressive fight résumé that speaks volumes about his explosive knockout capabilities.

Taking into account the last six of his victories, four have been knockouts. And the most recent finishes were two back-to-back knockouts of ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor at UFC 257 and UFC 264, respectively.

Dustin Poirier open to a boxing match with Conor McGregor

In the same question-answer round with his fans over Twitter, Dustin Poirier revealed he is willing to fight Conor McGregor again. However, this time it won’t be inside a cage, but a squared circle.

A fan asked Poirier, “Porier vs mcgregor in boxing ring????” To which Poirier replied, “Book it.”
