On Sunday, while replying to a fan’s query regarding his match with Diaz, Poirier claimed he would prefer to finish Diaz rather than take the fight to the distance and win with a decision. “I’d stop him,” Poirier Tweeted.
However, Nate Diaz is not someone to take lightly and certainly not with knockouts. The Stockton native has only been stopped twice in his UFC career, with the most recent knockout that came against Jorge Masvidal still being argued as a doctor stoppage.
But Poirier does have an impressive fight résumé that speaks volumes about his explosive knockout capabilities.
Taking into account the last six of his victories, four have been knockouts. And the most recent finishes were two back-to-back knockouts of ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor at UFC 257 and UFC 264, respectively.
Dustin Poirier open to a boxing match with Conor McGregor
In the same question-answer round with his fans over Twitter, Dustin Poirier revealed he is willing to fight Conor McGregor again. However, this time it won’t be inside a cage, but a squared circle.
