All About Max Holloway’s Son Rush: Who is his Mother?

Most UFC fans are well aware of the superb in-octagon prowess of the veteran featherweight and BMF champion Max Holloway.  One of the UFC’s youngest divisional champions, ‘Blessed’ claimed the UFC featherweight gold in 2017, while he was just 25 years of age. Currently holding a record of 26-8-0, he receives massive support from a large chunk of UFC fans.

Now, Max Holloway is going back to the fighter who welcomed him into the UFC, Dustin Poirier, who’s gearing up for his last fight. It’s a pretty big fight, but that’s not what we’re going to talk about in this article. Holloway’s fighting career has always been at the forefront of the news, but there are some fans who want to know about him on a personal note. So, let’s talk about his family, especially his son, Rush Holloway.

Who is Max Holloway’s son, Rush Holloway?

As already mentioned, Rush Holloway, 13, is Max Holloway’s only child. He was born in the year 2012 after Holloway got married to his first wife, Kaimana Pa’aluhi. Although Holloway hasn’t revealed much about his son, he has been accompanied by Rush to the post-event press conference of UFC 245. He also adorns several snaps on his father’s Instagram account. They showcase him enjoying holidays, and playing baseball and other sports with Holloway.

There was an instance when Max Holloway’s son was severely disheartened in his second bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 236. ‘Blessed’ suffered a lot of cuts and bruises, which appeared unsettling to young Rush. ‘Blessed’ has also revealed how his son cried when he met him after that fight. Hence, a number of fans might say that the two share a pretty, loving, and strong bond. Their UFC 245 appearance also stands as proof of their friendly relationship.

Max Holloway didn’t have a lot of friends growing up because of his troubled childhood. His first girlfriend, Kaimana Pa’aluhi, became his first ever strong connection outside his family. They had a close relationship and made the decision to get married in 2012.

Rush was born in the same year. But unfortunately, ‘Blessed’s’ marriage fell off in the year 2014 as the couple separated from each other. Hence, Rush has been living without his biological mother from the tender age of just 2 years. But having grown up without a father, Holloway didn’t want his son growing up with just a single parent.

“My grandpa was my father figure. She had a hard time explaining it. ‘He’s like my dad! But he’s not! He’s still your grandpa.’ And it finally hit me. He was a father figure, but he wasn’t my actual father. So if I can give my son a father and mother, it would be great,” Max Holloway stated in an interview with Ariel Helwani back in 2023.
