Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov, who were formerly closest friends, were engaged in a nasty legal battle. The battle’s most devastating aspect is that it’s taking place outside of the octagon. The allegations were supported by a number of tweets in which McGregor called the Russian fighter a “rat.” However, the case did not go in Lobov’s favor, which enraged him. A few weeks ago, the Irish high court judge dismissed his accusation, ruling that McGregor’s tweets were profane but not defamatory. As a result of the judge’s remark, the case turned against Lobov.

The legal battle between Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov

Artem Lobov was forced to deal with the fallout from his charge against McGregor. He was required to pay expenses for his unsuccessful accusation after losing the court battle against McGregor. However, He is not asked to pay the fees of the failed case until the defamation lawsuit comes to an actual conclusion. In court, Lobov made a concentrated effort to turn the tables on the Irishman. He wanted to take down all of McGregor’s tweets, in which he referred to his old SBG Ireland teammate as a “rat.” These tweets were not seen by Judge Garrett Simons as serious defamatory statements. The judge ruled that these tweets, which are unmistakably the UFC fighter’s trash talk, shouldn’t be given too much significance.

When McGregor and Lobov had some business disagreements earlier this year, the conflict between the once-best buddies began. When ‘the Notorious’ decided to sell his whisky company, “Proper 12,” for 600 million dollars, the real problem started. Artem Lobov later claimed that he gave McGregor advice to proceed with the sale, and McGregor even offered him 5% of the profits. Things didn’t go out as planned; McGregor didn’t hand the Russian fighter a single penny of the money. This prompted him to file a lawsuit against McGregor.

The series of events

Following the series of events, Lobov petitioned the Irish Commercial Court against McGregor. But even then, the law wasn’t on his side. Immediately after being rejected, the petition was moved to the High Court for additional hearings. The two were less patient because final judgments take longer in the High Court.
