Fans Shut Down Bellator Star “As Relevant as Dillon Danis” for Alex Pereira Claim- “The Jealousy Is Real”

Ever since shocking the world at UFC 281, Alex Pereira has had a huge target painted on his back. The 6’4″ Brazilian knocked out Israel Adesanya in the last round of their fight to secure the UFC middleweight title. ‘Poatan’ has since then received several callouts from other UFC stars. Now, he has the attention of fighters outside the UFC as well.

Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen had a few things to say during his recent appearance on ‘The MMA Hour.’ The 31-year-old defended his title against Anatoly Tokov this past weekend at Bellator 290. In his maiden title defense, the ATT representative dominated his opponent for a victory by unanimous decision. The scorecards read 50-45, 49-46, and 49-46 in Eblen’s favor. With the win, Eblen extended his pro record to an impressive 13-0.

Speaking to Helwani following his successful title defense, “The Human Cheat Code” shared his thoughts on how a fight with the UFC middleweight champion would go. “I think I beat [Alex Pereira], ten times out of ten, I beat him. I’m too much for the guy. I am a style matchup disaster for him… I don’t see him beating me. There’s no way.”

While Eblen was as confident in his prediction as you would expect him to be, many fans begged to differ.

Under an Instagram post mentioning Eblen’s comments, fans spoke their minds. While some agree with the Bellator champion, others thought he was in over his head.

ATT head coach Mike Brown showed support for his student and wrote, “You damn right.”

One fan wrote, “Bellator fighters forever bringing ufc fighters while ufc fighters NEVER bring up Bellator fighters. The jealousy is real.”

A similar comment read, “Love how everyone from Bellator fighter always has a ufc guys name in there mouth but it’s never the other way around.”

Another fan dismissed Eblen, saying, “Who da fook is this guy.”

One fan observed, “I feel like everyone says this until they get hit in the face by him and realize the dude packs the same amount of force as a small nuclear blast in his hands.”

One fan agreed with Eblen saying, “He’s right but casuals who only watch ufc are gonna say this is some crazy take.”

Another insulted him, saying, “Sir, you are as relevant as Dillon Danis. Please sit down.”
