“Fu*k Excuses”: Individual, Who Lost His Leg to a Rare Cancer, Inspires 5X MMA World Champion

Jake Shields is an athlete who is very active on Twitter. The MMA legend keeps tweeting on a regular basis. Shields recently tweeted about a chance meeting with GSP and how the meeting inspired him. Jake Shields tweeted about the time when he walked into a gym because of a snowstorm. He mentioned that the only person training in the gym was Georges St-Pierre.
Jake Shields added that average people will find excuses to remain average, but some people always do the little extra and go on to become champions.

In response to Jake Shields‘s story, Richie McPeak shared a video where he can be seen skipping on one leg. McPeak also shared his story about how he lost his leg to rare cancer in 2020. He talked about how doctors asked him to get a scooter or a wheelchair given his age.

Jake Shield was left mighty impressed when he got a response to his tweet. In his tweet Shields said,A few years ago I was in NYC to train Jiu-Jitsu under John Danaher  A snowstorm hit so I ended up having to walk partway When I got to the gym the only other student there was George St-Pierre  the majority will make any excuse they can to stay average”

Replying to this, Richie McPeak responded, “No excuses ever. December 2020 lost my leg above the knee to a rare cancer. Doctors told me since I’m 50 years old maybe I should get a scooter or a wheelchair. Fu*k excuses. Every step is a finish line. Have a great Wednesday”.

The heartwarming and inspiring video made the MMA legend go “amazing” in response. Further, the sheer determination of the one-legged warrior is enthralling fans.

Jake Shields has had a great MMA career

Jake Shields was once on a 15-fight winning streak. Georges St-Pierre defeated him in a battle that went on for 5 rounds at UFC 129. Shields also proved his mettle in Rumble on the Rock world championship. He was also the champion of Shooto World Mixed Martial Arts Championship.

Jake Shields left his mark on ‘Strikeforce’ when he submitted middleweight high flyer Robbie Lawler. His Twitter bio reads, “former UFC/MMA fighter 5 time world champion”. When a champion of that stature finds something inspiring, fans are left with no other choice than to respect the feat, and Richie McPeak has got that respect.
