

February is celebrated as Black History month across the United States. The annual celebration of the African-American diaspora and events in their history has now grown into Canada and even parts of the UK and Ireland. UFC has come up with a highlight of Black athletes in the promotion who have achieved heights in the MMA world. The two-and-a-half-minute video featured some exciting moments from Athletes like Israel Adesanya, Derrick Lewis, and Ciryl Gane. There was, however, a fighter who did not feature in the Black History highlights and he was disappointed with it.

Welterweight #7 Geoff Neal was disappointed as didn’t feature in the highlights by UFC. He took to Twitter to express himself. Neal was last seen fighting against Vicente Luque.

Geoff Neal was disappointed after not being included in the highlights
‘Handz of Steel’ took to Twitter and expressed how he felt after they did not include him in the Black History Highlights. Neal Tweeted, “Damn I didn’t make the cut for the black history highlights!”

Back in the day, Neal worked as a waiter for a long period before he got his moments of recognition in 2019. Moreover, he once had to return to the place he worked as a server, since he couldn’t find any fights for himself.

However, this is not the case for him this time. Geoff Neal will soon be fighting Shavkat Rakhmonov next. The 28-year-old is currently the #10 ranked fighter in the welterweight division. The Uzbekistan-born fighter has never lost a Pro-MMA bout and is sitting on a 16-0 record.

Neal Vs Rakhmonov is not the only bout to watch out for at UFC 285
UFC 285 will see Jon Jones get back in the cage after a long time. He will be up against #1 light heavyweight Ciryl Gane. In the women’s flyweight division, Valentina Shevchenko will fight Alexa Grasso. These matchups, along with Geoff Neal fighting Rakhmonov, have surely made UFC 285 an interesting affair.

Although Neal might be disappointed after he did not feature in the UFC highlights, he will have the chance to stop the winning run that Rakhmonov is on and establish his position further in the division.
