Hosted by Joe Rogan, the show hosts guests from different fields who can talk about a wide range of subjects. ‘Home Alone’ star Macaulay Culkin was one such guest on an interesting episode of JRE.

Rogan and Culkin discussed on a lot of topics. In their conversation, they also mentioned their thoughts on Hollywood icon Johnny Depp and the state of affairs surrounding him.

Macaulay Culkin and Joe Rogan started talking about Johnny Depp’s fashion with Rogan saying it was “an odd transition” for a 55-year-old man like Johnny Depp to start wearing scarfs obsessively. Rogan then noted that his wardrobe transition happened after the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies. He also expressed his surprise that a “beautiful man” like Depp would do something that odd.

Culkin followed up saying things were not looking so bright for Depp. He added that one of Depp’s upcoming movies was indefinitely pulled on short notice. He also said that looking at Depp’s pictures, he felt there was something off about him. Rogan said that Depp’s friendship with Doug Stanhope may have something to do with his odd behavioral changes.

“He hit that weird spot where you’re just too f***ing famous. Where you can’t go anywhere. Where you were when you were little, I’m sure,” Rogan said.

Rogan and Culkin further discussed Depp’s luxurious lifestyle and extravagant spending. The pair listed instances like Depp spending millions of dollars to shoot Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a cannon. They also mentioned his expensive wine habit, private island, and other property investments.

Rogan made one very important observation on the issue. He said Depp’s behavior might be his way of coping with laborious projects. Speaking from his experience as the host of Fear Factor, Rogan said guys who are not interested in their work spend the money they earn finding happiness in other activities.

After listening to Rogan talk about how hosting Fear Factor didn’t exactly satisfy him, Culkin mentioned that he was offered a role in The Big Bang Theory which he turned down. Culkin explained that the pitch for the show did not impress him. He further added, that if he did the show he would have had “hundreds of millions of dollars” but would be “bashing my head against a wall.”

The pair said that Depp moved on from doing passion projects to commercial films which do not satisfy him. Culkin added that right now Depp is “all about the money”. They recollected how Depp said he would never be a part of commercial franchises or become a “blockbuster boy” but ended up doing exactly that.
