The upcoming UFC 261 main event will feature Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal battling for the welterweight title. Earlier, at UFC 251, Masvidal failed to defeat ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ as he claimed he wasn’t prepared for the fight. ‘Gamebred’ entered the Octagon on six days’ notice, and now he got six weeks for the rematch.

Even though he lost the first meeting with the champion, he wasn’t finished or hurt during the fight. This time around, ‘Gamebred’ will have a complete training camp with proper wrestling training for his rematch this week. ‘The BMF’ will look to stop Usman and add him to the lengthy list of fighters he has stopped in the past.

The most bizarre and recent knockout came against the former Bellator MMA and ONE Championship champion Ben Askren. Many people were rooting an Askren win as he was a decorated wrestler and was undefeated at that time with a record of 19-0. Fans expected complete domination by the undefeated fighter, but his opponent had other plans.

Jorge Masvidal came running and fired a flying knee that landed between the shoulder and the neck region of Askren. ‘Funky’ froze as his body was completely shut down. It was a horrifying scene as Askren, who was lying stiff as a corpse, showed no movement.

This is the fastest knockout in the UFC history, which came in 5 seconds of the first round.

Darren Till knocked out in London

Before the Ben Askren knockout, Masvidal battled Darren Till in the main event in London. Till rocked his opponent in the starting fifteen seconds of the fight, but ‘Gamebred’ recovered quickly and wrestled his way up to get on his feet. However, ‘The Gorilla’ was controlling the pace inside the Octagon and looked sharper. He also secured a takedown to win the first round.

In the second round, Jorge Masvidal connected with a swinging left hand to drop ‘The Gorilla’. ‘Gamebred’ left the arena with a pin-drop silence as he defeated Till in front of his home crowd.

‘Gamebred’ TKO’S Donald Cerrone and breaks his 4 fight win streak

Masvidal faced Donald Cerrone back in January 2017 in Denver, Colorado. At the time, ‘Cowboy’ was riding a four-fight win streak and looked like one of the most dangerous strikers in the division. He was ranked #5 at welterweight; Masvidal was #12. The fight was competitive until ‘Gamebred’ caught him with a combo of left-right which knocked Cerrone on his back.

The fight was almost stopped, but the round ended, and hence ‘Cowboy’ got time to compose himself. The ‘BMF’ unleashed the same combination in the second round, following up with body shots. Referee Herb Dean had seen enough and stopped the fight while ‘Cowboy’ was wobbly on the feet.

Jorge Masvidal has a total of 16 (T) KO wins in his career. Apart from the names in the article, he has also stopped Jake Ellenberger, Cezar Ferreira, Matt Lee, and many more. ‘Gamebred’ has shown when things don’t go his way he comes out with something unexpected which leaves the world in disbelief.
