In just a few hours at UFC 270, a spectacular heavyweight title bout is about to take place between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane. This fight between the heavyweight champion and the interim heavyweight champion has the potential to go down as one of the biggest bouts in the division.
After all, there is a great storyline leading up to the title fight. While Ngannou has incredible power, Gane has great technique. This bout has everything an MMA fan would want to watch. UFC 270 takes place on January 22 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Despite having a huge audience, plus ticket prices increasing, both the fighters’ collective purses may not touch $1 million. During his bout against Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, Ngannou made around $580,000. On the other hand, Gane made approximately $432,000 during his interim title bout at UFC 265. Their previous salaries barely hit seven figures.

However, PPV bonuses, sponsorships, etc. can make tons of difference, and hence, their pay can be considerably higher.
There will be much more clarity about their pay after the fight because ‘The California State Athletic Commission’ is open about how much fighters make.
The UFC has come under fire several times for reportedly underpaying their fighters. Boxer Jake Paul has called out Dana White for the same.

In an interview, UFC heavyweight champion ‘The Predator’ Francis Ngannou spoke about the issues he was facing with the promotion; specifically in terms of pay.

He said, “No, I will not fight for $500,000 – $600,000 anymore. I mean, it’s over, it’s over, I just did this. I took this fight just, I mean for personal reason and because I want to like make sure that regardless, even is unfair, I have been wrongly, wrongly treat, I can’t make my case of saying I’ve accomplished the eight-fight, you know.”
