Deiveson Figueiredo is currently preparing to take on Brandon Moreno at UFC 270. It will be a trilogy fight, and Figueiredo will look to reclaim the flyweight title from ‘The Assassin Baby.’ In the buildup to the fight, Figueiredo talked about a few topics. One of them was his potential former opponent, Cody Garbrandt.
‘No Love’, a former UFC bantamweight champion, was scheduled to challenge the Brazilian for the flyweight title. However, the fight didn’t materialize as he had to pull out because of multiple health issues and an injury.
Garbrandt recently made a switch to the flyweight division and got brutally finished by Kai-Kara France. He is now 1-5 in his last six fights and Figueiredo had some advice for him.

He said, “I really expected more. It became clear that this division is not for him. He has to stay in his weight class. It’s clear he gets weaker, physically speaking, going down in weight. He’s totally worn out. He should stay [at bantamweight] or move up to 145. This division is not for him.”

However, the former flyweight champion wants Garbrandt to continue fighting. ‘Deus da Guerra’ said, “Since he’s a boxer and likes boxing, it would be good for him to box, to make that transition. He’s too young to think about retirement. He’s still got wood left to burn. In MMA [too], but flyweight is not for him. That message was very clear.”
Deiveson Figueiredo vows to take Brandon Moreno’s head
Figueiredo is not looking to play around in the trilogy fight against Brandon Moreno. The Brazilian has put in the work to get the flyweight title back and has made his intentions clear. For this fight, he started training with Moreno’s former training partner, Henry Cejudo.

Despite being former teammates, there is bad blood between Moreno and ‘Triple C’. The issue between them stems from the fact that Moreno helped Joseph Benavidez train for a fight against Cejudo.
