Nate Diaz getting into scuffles outside the cage is not news anymore. The former UFC welterweight has a reputation for ‘Stockton slapping’ people if they disrespect him or his crew. In fact, he got into it again at UFC 281. However, UFC light heavyweight Anthony Smith made a fascinating observation about Nate Diaz’s altercations recently.

UFC 281 went down last weekend at Madison Square Garden. Diaz and company were in attendance for the event and got into an altercation that grabbed a few headlines. Smith was discussing everything UFC 281 related with Michael Bisping when he made an interesting remark about team Diaz’s altercations.
Anthony Smith on Nate Diaz’s scuffles
Anthony Smith and Michael Bisping were talking on Bisping’s ‘Believe You Me‘ podcast. They were discussing the Nate Diaz-Dillon Danis scuffle when Smith pointed out something you never hear about with Nate Diaz. He also acknowledged that people might twist his observation before getting into it.
“He’s always somewhere and there’s always a Nate Diaz scuffle. There’s always something going on. There’s always a mess. You never hear of anybody actually getting hurt. Like there’s a bunch of Nate Diaz scuffles, a bunch of fights. You never hear about no one with a broken nose, no black eyes, no hospital visits… no police. Like, how do you guys get in so many fights with your whole crew and nobody gets hurt?”
Smith continued, “I don’t understand. How do you guys get- A) either so lucky or B) if me and you were in that scuffle, just the two of us by ourselves versus ten people, somebody’s going to the hospital. Well, how is it Nate Diaz’s 47 people versus 35 people of someone else’s, nobody gets hurt?”
This absurd fact about Diaz’s altercations visibly confused ‘Lionheart.’ Considering the number of scuffles that Diaz has been in, it is surprising that they have avoided the troubles that Smith listed to Bisping.
Some famous Nate Diaz scuffles
The most recent Nate Diaz scuffle is that with Dillon Danis and his companions at UFC 281. A few weeks before UFC 281, Diaz and his team got into another altercation at the Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva boxing event. Police escorted them out of the arena after they allegedly had a run-in with Paul’s team backstage.

Team Diaz has also beefed similarly with Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. The infamous press conference before the second Diaz-McGregor fight is still a notorious chapter of their rivalry. Security had a difficult time keeping the chaos contained as team Diaz and McGregor started throwing bottles at each other.
Diaz and Nurmagomedov got into an altercation at a WSOF event back in 2015. Diaz claimed he slapped ‘The Eagle’ back then. The pair almost got into another scuffle at UFC 239, but the security’s timely intervention prevented it. The Stockton, California athlete, was also involved in the UFC 279 brawl that erupted backstage before the press conference.
