For his title unification bout against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290, ‘The Great’ secured a base salary of $1,500,000 once again. However, this time, the total salary for the event was reported to be $2,142,000. Therefore, fans can assume, based on previous fight details, that Volkanovski will secure a base salary of at least $1.5 million for his UFC 298 clash against Ilia Topuria as well.

He stated, “This documentary … they’re going to need an extra one because the road to the title isn’t going to be accomplished. He ain’t getting it this time.” Volkanovski also expressed a desire to teach Topuria a lesson, hoping it would prompt him to adopt a more diligent attitude towards training and earning his place in the UFC.
