“I Don’t Judge Him”- Jan Blachowicz Makes a Statement on Jon Jones’ Current Situation

Jan Blachowicz has been in great form the past few years. He captured the UFC light heavyweight title in September last year at UFC 253 with a dominating performance against Dominick Reyes. Since then, he has defended his title once against UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
Right now, Blachowicz is preparing to defend his title at UFC 267 against Glover Teixeira. While the Polish fighter was still a challenger for the title, Jon Jones dominated the light heavyweight division. After his last fight against Dominick Reyes, many expected Blachowicz to be next in line to challenge Jones. However, Jones vacated the title sometime after the fight, and the Polish fighter took the title.
Blachowicz in the past has talked about fighting Jones but doesn’t seem too interested in the fight anymore. In a recent interview, he was asked about who he thinks should be next to challenge for the title. During the conversation, the name of Jon Jones also came up. Jan said, “Jon Jones, nobody knows what’s happening right now with him. Stop! Very sad. I don’t judge him, but we will see what’s going to happen.”

Blachowicz here was talking about the recent controversy Jones was involved in. The former UFC light heavyweight champion was arrested in Vegas for domestic battery and resisting arrest. Since the incident, Jones has also been temporarily banned from his long-time gym, and not allowed there until he sorts his personal life.

A fight against Jon Jones might or might not happen, but right now, Blachowicz’s focus is on his next challenge, Glover Teixeira. The two heavyweights will collide in the main event at UFC 267. The Polish fighter right now is on a five-fight win streak and predicts a second or third-round knockout win for himself.

However, Teixeira is not one to be ignored. The 41-year-old has seen a career resurgence of late and can be a serious challenge for the champion. The Brazilian fighter is on a five-fight win streak of his own and defeated former title contenders in Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos in his last two fights. The 19 year veteran in the sport last challenged for the title in 2014, when he lost to Jon Jones and will look to win it this time before his career ends.
