The light heavyweight clash between the two bigwigs in the form of Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann was surely a captivating showdown in front of the fans who came to watch UFC Singapore. Saturday showcased their rematch in front of the fans, which seemingly got them anticipating it ever since it got fixed.

A fully focused Ryan Spann looked forward to even the score after losing against Smith in their last headliner back in 2021. Both were looking focused before entering the octagon and were eyeing to make a statement. But the fate was surely not in the favor of Spann.

A surprising end to the light heavyweight clash

Both fighters went inside the octagon with the sole purpose of climbing the ladder and flourishing their prospects. The co-headliners between ‘Superman’ and  ‘Lionheart’ began with both aiming to lean heavily through their strikes. Spann, however, tried to hit Smith with his right hand and a kick, but his deeds backfired as Smith hit him with a beautiful calf kick, sitting him down.

The first round was over having both guys equally involved in the clash. Round 2 began with a brutal punch on Smith’s eye, swelling it up. However, Smith hung up to carry on as the second round got over.

In round 3, both men initially exchanged a few jabs at each other. Spann, however, was still aiming at the injured eye. But both men went ahead to reach the decision. But shockingly for Spann, the decision went in favor of Anthony Smith, as he won by a split decision. The match was indeed, able to captivate the fans since they had a lot to say on X.
