

The winner of ‘The Ultimate Fighter 22’, Ryan Hall, has been plagued with several injuries since his last fight against Darrick Minner at UFC 269, which he won. ‘The Wizard’ hasn’t competed since then as he sought medical attention. He recently opened up about his predicament and also provided a timeline of his return to the octagon.
Ryan Hall has amassed an MMA record of 9 wins and 2 losses so far in his career. However, he is at the twilight stages of his career and has found himself bedbound for the last 14 months. Let us take a look at what ‘The Wizard’ had to say on his possible comeback.

Ryan Hall underwent 16 surgeries
The featherweight fighter told ‘MMA Junkie’ that he had catered to all the injuries his body had suffered in the time away from the octagon. and he underwent a total of sixteen surgeries all over his body.
Hall said, “It’s a bit of a saga. I spent over 10 years not being injured, then I just got a couple of bad luck injuries, like getting fallen a couple of times.” He added, “So a lot of things started to add up. I broke my hand in that first fight in 2021, had that fight in December, and then went into the next year.”

Hall also mentioned that he suffered a few injuries while fighting in the ADCC. He said, “I was going to do ADCC, going to do some competitions, and I had actually just agreed to a fight in August of 2022, but unfortunately got fallen on, tore my ACL, tore my meniscus and it’s been 16 surgeries since.”
‘The Wizard’ provides an update on his return
Ryan Hall is all about MMA. He is planning to return by fall 2023, but before that he will compete in a grappling match at the main event of Polaris 24 against Ashley Williams. “I want to come back and I want to continue,” said the featherweight fighter. Hall wasn’t happy with the fact that he dropped down in the rankings due to inactivity triggered by his injuries.

But Hall hopes to return and fight against the best UFC has to offer. He added, “I managed to end 2021 on a good note, and I just want to get back to pushing forward and growing and learning and moving back to fighting the best guys I can.”

The Virginia native is close to becoming fully fit to fight. He may not have been around in recent times, but he is very much a credible competitor in the featherweight division. He recently trained with Cory Sandhagen ahead of the latter’s fight against Marlon Vera, which had a controversial ending. Ryan Hall will aim to make an impact when he returns to the octagon.
