Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson competed in a remarkable contest at UFC 279. The main event was the last bout of Stockton star’s UFC contract. Thus, Conor McGregor, with whom Diaz had a couple of mega bouts, reacted to what could be the potential departure from the promotion for Nathan Diaz.
The former UFC dual champion has even scores with the winner of the UFC 279 main eventer after edging him on the judges’ scorecard in the rematch at UFC 202.

The 209 representative got it done impressively against ‘El Cucuy’ as he became the first athlete to submit the legendary 155 lbs fighter. The Irish star gave his insights on the fight and how he would have fared against ‘El Cucuy‘.

Diaz mentioned about McGregor trilogy in his post-fight press conference and the Octagon interview. Also, he shut down a boxing contest against the self-proclaimed Face of the Fight Game.
While both fighters have shown interest in a trilogy, it would be an interesting ride to the mega-event considering Diaz’s situation with the promotion.
Will Nate Diaz return to UFC for a trilogy bout?
The Irish star is on the verge of a return. However, Diaz & McGregor III does not seem the next bout for ‘The Notorious‘.

Diaz shared his ‘love’ for the UFC in the post-fight interview and kept the doors open for a UFC return.
Further, considering the prior two events between these two athletes sold almost 3 million PPVs for the promotion and made a ton of money for these two fighters. Diaz might show up to the premier MMA organization for a lucrative trilogy contest after his run in other sports, as he declared.
