Anthony Johnson is set to end his four-year layoff from competition. The former title challenger is eyeing a return to the octagon in 2021. ‘Rumble’ announced his retirement from MMA after his second loss to Daniel Cormier at UFC 210.
Ahead of his possible return, Johnson has a very specific mindset. He is not looking to choose or handpick opponents. The vicious knockout artist is looking to take on all comers and “bury” everyone.

“Everybody, everybody. I am not gonna call out one person. I’m trying to bury everybody.” said Johnson. This is a chilling warning for the rest of the 205 lbs division. He last competed at light-heavyweight and is expected to make his return in the same weight class.
With long-reigning champion Jon Jones vacating his belt, Jan Blachowicz has made the most of the opportunity and is the new champion. A return of a formerly established contender like ‘Rumble’ leaves the division in their wake.
Anthony Johnson is a vicious knockout artist
The veteran has the ability to knock his opponents out anytime. He is a scary individual, to say the least. A fight with Francis Ngannou at heavyweight was touted between the two power punchers. “The Predator” also welcomed the idea.

In an interview with Morning Kombat this week, Ngannou said, “Yeah, I would be very interested in that fight, Rumble Johnson is a guy that I respect a lot. I know him as a person, and I admire him as a person. It would be great to share the Octagon with him, no matter if it’s for the title or not.”

A fight between Johnson and Ngannou will undoubtedly be filled with fireworks. But even without that fantasy fight, there are plenty of other options available for Anthony Johnson. At 36, Johnson still has the athleticism and ability to fight anybody. And he is looking to be on a roll once he returns to the UFC octagon.
He bid goodbye in 2016 in tears. It was an emotional farewell. Fans have missed him too as anytime he fights it’s bound to be entertaining. A return at this stage sounds perfect for ‘Rumble’.
Who should Johnson fight upon his return? Should it be Ngannou? Or someone else?
