Conor McGregor reacted to the petition to put his face on the €1 coin

On January 13, 2016, a Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions reviewed a petition filed by one Patrick O’Leary.

As the committee could not establish contact with the petitioner before reviewing it, the petition was declared inadmissible and rejected.

However, the buzz created by this bizarre demand drew a reaction from ‘The Notorious’ one himself. McGregor tweeted an edited image of his face on a coin, saying, “The boom is BACK baby!!! #F***TheRecession.”

He had also tweeted, “It would be a true honor for me to be immortalised on the €1 coin! Thank you to my fans for the petition!Let’s go Oireachtas! Vote YES :-)”
