UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya exclusively spoke to Submission Radio and offered some insight into his future in the company.
Chiefly, ‘The Last Stylebender’ opened up about his plans to move up to the light heavyweight division and challenge the champion Jan Blachowicz. UFC President Dana White recently announced the same to the media, and now Izzy will be on the hunt for his second belt.
What’s more, this is expected to leave the middleweight contenders on the shelf for the foreseeable future. Former champion Robert Whittaker had more or less earned his rematch opportunity against Israel, but he may not get it until 2022.

Israel Adesanya: “I know what he means”
The Nigerian born and New Zealand made champion was empathetic towards Whittaker’s desire to spend time with his family. Izzy himself explained that he had every intention of spending the holidays with his family.
“I too wanna spend Christmas with my family, and I will. I mean, behind the scenes I’m doing a lot to ensure my family makes it home for Christmas and we all spend Christmas together as a family. It’s important to me.”
