Khamzat Chimaev has had his eye on Alex Pereira ever since the latter shocked the world by finishing Israel Adesanya and winning the UFC middleweight title. The towering Brazilian middleweight has been a force of destruction, laying waste to anything in his path. ‘Poatan’ has shot to popularity following his title win after just four UFC fights. Several doors have opened up for him with many big match opportunities. As it stands, he will be facing Adesanya in his first title defense in April. However, conversations about other fights for Pereira are also going strong among fans. One of them is against the Chechen wolf, Khamzat Chimaev.

Recently, Chimaev‘s friend and fellow UFC middleweight Darren Till gave his preview of how a fight between ‘Poatan’ and ‘Borz’ would play out. While his take may not be surprising, not everyone might agree with it.

What Chimaev said after UFC 281

In an interview after UFC 281, Khamzat Chimaev expressed his disappointment over Pereira beating Adesanya. ‘Borz’ had his own plans that Pereira‘s win spoiled.

He said, “This was my chance. I was thinking, I was- Israel has to win. He has to win. I was feeling like that he has to win that fight with that guy. Who he gonna fight after that? So, yeah. But he lose. He lost the fight. So, I don’t know what is he gonna do. When I lost the fight, I was like mad, you know.”

Although his plans may have been spoiled, Chimaev has no shortage of opponents. He is still an undefeated fighter in the UFC and one of the most exciting on the roster.
