On numerous occasions, Joe Rogan has given his commentary on Elon Musk and his various ventures. The host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ is good friends with Musk and has hosted the billionaire on his podcast as well. Rogan was also keen on Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and kept a close eye on the events that followed. The 55-year-old was also vocal about the changes he wanted to see on Twitter after Musk’s purchase. Now, months after Musk’s Twitter takeover, Rogan has a hilariously odd take on Musk’s purchase of Twitter.

In episode #1930 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan hosted internet entrepreneur, former MTV VJ, and podcasting pioneer, Adam Curry. Over their three-hour-long conversation, the pair covered several topics, including Musk and Twitter.

Rogan and Curry were discussing some files released by Musk after his Twitter purchase. These files showed how Twitter flagged accounts that violated its terms of service. Furthermore, the FBI had flagged these accounts as well.

While discussing the FBI’s involvement in Twitter flagging accounts, Rogan and Curry discussed if it was a paid service. Curry opined that to process their requests and give account information, it made sense for Twitter to charge the FBI. He also added that Twitter was not a very profitable company to being with.

At this point, Rogan interjected, saying, “It takes a lunatic to spend $44 billion to get a not-very-profitable company so that he can let people just talk sh*t.” Although they joked about Musk’s multi-billion dollar purchase, they both agreed that he was doing more than “letting people talk sh*t.”

Joe Rogan Discloses Elon Musk’s Real Intentions Behind Buying Twitter but Worried About the Consequences

Interestingly, Rogan once mentioned the downsides of Twitter on JRE. He did so a few months before Elon Musk purchased Twitter.

What Rogan considered the biggest drawback of Twitter

Back in May 2022, Rogan hosted The Black Keys on episode #1815 of The Joe Rogan Experience. While talking to his guests, Rogan listed what he considered the greatest drawback of Twitter.

He said, “Too much negativity. So many people, that’s where they dwell most of the time and it can trap you and you can think it’s your duty to engage in this. You know, writing you are doing activism or something…”

He further added, “So many people just being shi**y to people in that form, in a way that you would like never want to be in real life. You have to be a terrible person to just say to a person that you don’t even know some of the things that people type out on Twitter.”

While Twitter is not running under the leadership of Musk, things may not be much different. Free speech controversies and political turbulence are everyday commonalities on Twitter.
