Joe Rogan Reveals How Kamaru Usman Has Played an Important Role in Francis Ngannou’s Development

After Francis Ngannou defeated Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 and won the UFC Heavyweight Championship, he showed the world why he is considered the best Heavyweight fighter in the world. Ngannou seemed pretty comfortable during the whole fight and knocked out Miocic in the second round itself. ‘The Predator’ became the third African-born champion in the UFC, along with Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya.
During Ngannou’s fight with Miocic, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ was present at ringside to support Ngannou. Now, though, UFC commentator Joe Rogan talked about how Usman was not there to just support Ngannou but also to help him in staying calm.
Rogan said, “Francis was really calm, and he was pacing himself and he had Kamaru Usman, who is the welterweight champion in his corner. He’s saying ‘stay calm calm calm, patience patience patience’.”

Rogan continued, “And so that was their like whole key to not just implementing the game plan as far as like tactics because they had that down too. Like his takedown defense was on point, his strategy was on point everything was great but also they had this idea of like keep him calm. For him to explode is natural, for him to be calm that’s what you have to concentrate on. But when he was doing that, DC said it best he was like calm Francis is fu***ng scary”
Kamaru Usman and Francis Ngannou have always been there for each other. And seeing how Usman was not there to just help Ngannou with the technical stuff but also to help the fighter in controlling his emotions is great.
What next for Francis Ngannou and Kamaru Usman?
Even before the fight between Ngannou and Miocic had taken place, Jon Jones was announced as a potential opponent for the winner. After Ngannou defeated Miocic, a super fight between Ngannou and Jones was all set to take place, but as negotiations between Jones and the UFC didn’t reach fruition, that fight had to be scrapped.

‘It Can’t Go Bad Twice’- Dana White Says Francis Ngannou vs Derrick Lewis Will Deliver
Now it seems like a rematch between Ngannou and Derrick Lewis is the most likely fight on the cards. Ngannou and ‘The Black Beast’ have already once competed at the co-main event of UFC 226. That fight was won by Lewis and although Ngannou is entering this fight as a slight favorite this time, Lewis is confident he will be victorious this time as well.

Usman, on the other hand, just defended his welterweight title for the fourth time when he defeated Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261. Now the champion is scheduled to spend some time away from the Octagon, and will probably face Colby Covington when he returns to action.
As Both Usman and Ngannou along with Adesanya represent a whole continent in the UFC, therefore, seeing the fighters support and help each other grow was tremendous. Therefore, we cannot wait to see the fighters get back to action.
