Most MMA fans will immediately think of Jorge Masvidal when discussing clean and powerful striking inside the UFC Octagon. The ‘Gambred’ fighter has given MMA fans quite a lot of incredible fights. He has showcased his incredible striking multiple times; including the ‘BMF’ title fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 244. Masvidal was also a street fighter previously and takes an interest in various other fights. He is also an avid social media user and often uses his social media accounts to share incidents about the fight game.

Masvidal posting about fights in other promotions is quite usual. But, this time ‘Gamebred’ took to Facebook to post about a six-year-old fight that happened in the streets.

The street fight impressed Jorge Masvidal

Masvidal shared an article about this fight on his Facebook Page. The two fighters were identified as a former bare-knuckle fighter and TV personality, Paddy Doherty and Johnny Joyce.

Masvidal also captioned his post, “People still say that this is the greatest street scrap of all times!”. It was apparent that the street fighter within him appreciated the fight.

However, most others will call this fight ‘horrific’ as it showcased Doherty’s ear in a bitten-off stage. The ear could be seen dangling from the little connection it had with the bulk. The video also showcased the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant’s face in a bloodbath. It could be seen clearly that the person recording the video was clearly against Doherty; cheering for Joyce to land a few more shots. It is pertinent to note that Joyce is Doherty’s cousin.

The ear biting could be retraced to Paddy Doherty’s rant that he “bit his victims and consumed the bits he would bite off them”. He confessed on the television program ‘Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men’.

Doherty encouraged the fight himself

Dougie Joyce was found to be the man taking the video. He, along with Paddy Doherty and Johnny Joyce, was put on trial for affray. Johnny Joyce’s defending lawyer clarified that it was Doherty who had encouraged the fight. The lawyer also said that the fight was because of a family altercation. Doherty faced 15 months of imprisonment for this act, whereas Dougie Joyce was ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order.
