‘Just No Head Movement’ – Colby Covington Talks About What Has Changed Since His Last Fight With Kamaru Usman

Colby Covington is all set to face Kamaru Usman in their much-anticipated rematch at UFC 268. ‘Chaos’ will return to action for the first time since September 2020, when he faced Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11. Covington had won that fight via a 5th round TKO.

Covington last faced Kamaru Usman back at the UFC 245 event. This fight was highly anticipated, and many believed Covington could be the man to defeat Usman. However, that was not to be the case as ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ won the fight via a 5th round TKO.

Now as ‘Chaos’ prepares to take on Usman again, the fighter believes he is much better prepared than last time. Covington now has a new team with him and believes he has worked on improving everything that he did wrong in the 1st fight.

During a recent interview with Sherdog.com, they asked the fighter what mistakes he made in the last fight and what he has done to improve them.

‘Chaos’ said, “The biggest mistake was keeping my hands down, taking a lot of unanswered shots, and just no head movement. Now I’m working with coach Cesar and we’re working real hard on our head movement and our timing. I didn’t have those things before.”

“I didn’t know how to move my head and I did not know how to have the right timing. So now we have put all these pieces together, you know the puzzles solved and November 6 we gotta show that in front of the world.”

What to expect from the rematch between Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman?

Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman will compete for the welterweight title on November 6. The last fight between the fighters was entertaining and ended at a loss for Covington. This fight also promises to be equally, if not more, entertaining.

Since that fight, Covington has defeated Tyron Woodley while Usman has successfully defended his title 3 more times. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ seems to be in the shape of his career and now has a plethora of experience of competing in title fights.

Covington also seems to be working on all his mistakes and is confident he will stop Usman this time around. Whatever the result of this fight, fans are surely in for an entertaining affair when these two fighters collide.
