“I really enjoy with this fight. Honestly, I really enjoy I’m I’m very happy for. For Dustin Poirier. I think he deserved title shot and I think right now he deserved to be UFC lightweight champion,” said ‘The Eagle’.
McGregor and Nurmagomedov shared one of the most heated rivalries in the history of the UFC. So, it’s not surprising to see the Dagestani glad to see his former opponent lose. However, McGregor empathized with the Russian when the latter lost his father. So, Nurmagomedov’s approach while the Irishman is down is an indication of the despise he possesses towards McGregor.
Poirier and Nurmagomedov on the other hand, share a rather respectful relationship. It is understandable why the undefeated Russian backs the Louisiana native to eventually become the UFC lightweight champion. He is expected to fight champion Charles Oliveira next.
