Khabib’s 1-Word Definition of “Legacy” for Conor McGregor and Himself Goes Viral

The rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor was one of the biggest in UFC’s history. Both fighters have become legends of the octagon. They had one of the most anticipated matches in UFC and created a lot of buzz in the MMA community. Both McGregor and Nurmagomedov have unique fighting skills that none can match.

The rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor dates back to 2015. The Russian fighter expressed his wish to fight McGregor at a time when the Irishman was still a featherweight contender. ‘Mystic Mac’ even took it further after attacking Nurmagomedov’s teammates in the famous bus attack in 2018.

They officially came to blows against each other at UFC 229 after years of heat between the two fighters. It was one of the biggest fights in the history of the promotion. The match resulted in Khabib Nurmagomedov defeating Conor McGregor by submission in the 4th round. That day, the Dagestani native cemented his legacy as one of the toughest MMA fighters in the history of the sport.

Fans react to a resurfaced video of Khabib Nurmagomedov being interviewed on the build-up to his match against Conor McGregor

An old clip of Nurmagomedov’s interview before UFC 229 has resurfaced on social media. He is seen talking about the difference between his legacy and that of Conor McGregor. He says, “He [McGregor] tapped already. he tapped four times. No. 5? It’s not a problem for him because he already has money. No motivation.” ‘The Eagle’ added, “His [Mcgregor’s] legacy is money. My legacy is smash.”

Many fans took a shot at Nurmagomedov claiming that money is more important than smashing fighters because it pays the bills. Some fans also claimed that he is only good at ‘smashing’ only strikers. But there were others who sided with ‘The Eagle’ and called him the most dominant fighter in UFC history.
