Khamzat Chimaev Sends a Surprise Call-Out for His Next Welterweight Opponent

UFC welterweight, Khamzat Chimaev, took to social media and let fans know exactly who he has his sights set on. ‘Borz’ tagged fellow welterweight contender, Neil Magny, in his recent post, and fans have begun chattering online. Chiefly, the post also served as a confirmation that Chimaev isn’t retiring despite coming out with a retirement notice recently.
What’s more, this call-out will be music to the ears of veteran welterweight who has been calling out Chimaev. For the longest time, the Swedish-Russian fighter was booked against Leon Edwards, but the fight kept falling out. Through it all, Magny has used his platform as an elite 170-pounder to take aim at ‘Borz’.

Even though Chimaev isn’t highly ranked, his name value makes him a lucrative match-up to secure going forward. Moreover, he’s got Dana White and the entire UFC backing him with a main event spot whenever he does decide to fight again. Neil Magny has certainly paid his dues and truly deserves an opportunity to put his name out there more.

‘The Haitian Sensation’ is 3-1 in his last four fights and is coming off a rather lopsided decision loss to Michael Chiesa. The bout was bumped up to the main event slot following another cancelation of Leon Edwards vs Khamzat Chimaev. Prior to the loss, he was beating down top contenders and he’ll be looking forward to returning to that spot.

Th 9-0 fighter who holds the record for being the most active fighter who hasn’t been able to find his way back to the cage. He last fought back in September, where he pummeled Gerald Meerschaert and illness has sidelined him since. Despite the long lay-off, fans are still intrigued to see if he is the real deal against the very best of the division.

Fighting Neil Magny will be the perfect litmus test for Chimaev, and the entire MMA community will be watching. Another blistering stoppage win will solidify what fans already suspect about him- that he’s a future champion.
