Justin Gaethje finally avenged his 2018 loss to Dustin Poirier by registering a remarkable knockout win to claim the BMF title at UFC 291. Meanwhile, following his win, former two-division champion Conor McGregor issued a challenge to ‘The Highlight’ and expressed his interest in fighting for the BMF strap. Apparently, Gaethje isn’t interested in that proposition.
Gaethje lost to Dustin Poirier in 2018 with a 4th-round TKO loss. However, he bested his rival at UFC 291 with an impressive 2nd-round head-kick knockout. It was one of the biggest moments of the pay-per-view. ‘The Highlight’ is currently in an unusual situation in which he may have far more options to fight than other top contenders in the division. It can also include a fight against McGregor with the Irishman’s recent call-out. But he brutally rejected the former ‘champ champ’.

He said, “I think he’s turned me down six times.”

‘The Highlight’ made it clear that he had no interest in fighting Conor McGregor. He only cares about getting to fight top contenders like Dustin Poirier. He said, “I don’t really care [about McGregor]. I like to find big fights [and] I like exciting things.”
Moreover, he claimed that Conor McGregor may be juiced up. With the USADA controversy going around the MMA community, it isn’t unusual for others to believe that ‘The Notorious’ is using steroids. Gaethje maintained his stance and stated that he wants nothing to do with cheaters. “I don’t wanna fight someone on steroids… I don’t wanna fight someone that’s cheating,” said the new BMF champion.
