“Max Is Big Time!” – Conor McGregor Eager to Watch His Former Foe in Action at UFC Vegas 42

Max Holloway will clash in an intriguing featherweight bout against Yair Rodriguez in the main event at UFC Vegas 42. Several from the MMA community are excited to watch this bout; one such person includes Holloway’s former foe, Conor McGregor.

Holloway, 22-6 coming into this bout, is riding on a 1-fight win streak. Meanwhile, Rodriguez, 13-2 (1 NC) coming into this bout, is riding on a two-fight win streak. Both fighters are aiming to add another spectacular victory to their respective resume.

Furthermore, several eyes are on this bout as the winner will probably face the current UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, in their next fight. 

That said, here is what Holloway’s former foe, Conor McGregor, had to say about this fight.

In his official Twitter handle, the ‘Notorious’ one said – “Max is big time! Can’t wait to watch this day show at the apex. @UFC”

Conor McGregor takes a dig at Max Holloway

After the aforementioned tweet, McGregor wasted no time in taking a dig at Holloway. The ‘Notorious’ one made two different tweets to berate Holloway’s boxing skills.

McGregor Tweet #1: “Hey twitter! The fighter that has absorbed the most head strikes in @ufc history competes tonight. Max Holloway. Can’t wait to watch.”

However, it appears McGregor immediately deleted the above-mentioned Tweet.

McGregor Tweet #2: “Best boxer my a** crack. The guys been smacked the most smacks in ufc history! Most shots absorbed is not best boxer guys I’m sorry, and I love the kid.”

It appears the pair still have bad blood, which makes the idea of a rematch between them more exciting.

Will there be McGregor vs. Holloway 2?

McGregor and Holloway met eight years ago, on August 17, 2013, at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen. The ‘Notorious’ one claimed a unanimous decision victory on his way to capturing the UFC featherweight title against Jose Aldo.

Meanwhile, Holloway bounced back from his loss against McGregor, en route to capturing the UFC featherweight title against Jose Aldo.

The pair have often gone back-and-forth taking a dig at each other. However a long shot it may be, there is always a chance of Holloway and McGregor facing each other inside the octagon once again. Furthermore, it will be one of the most exciting rematches in UFC if it ever comes to fruition.
