The previous few hours in the world of MMA were pretty eventful. From an altercation between UFC non-fighters to the rescheduling of previously fixed exciting bouts, this edition packs a lot about the most noted recent MMA world events. The famed MMA coverage personality, Ariel Helwani, provided his take on the so-called “weird comment” of the UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan. The UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev expressed his discontent regarding the promotion of his upcoming event, the UFC 284. Lastly, the UFC declared that the coveted Marlon Vera vs Cory Sandhagen bout will be rescheduled for a UFC event on March 25, 2023.

Ariel Helwani lashed out at Joe Rogan for accusing him baselessly

Rogan and the noted UFC Welterweight Belal Muhammad talked about how Muhammad’s fellow Welterweight, Sean Brady, visited Ariel Helwani’s coveted podcast, ‘The MMA Hour’ and described his horrible experience of receiving death threats prior to his UFC 280 loss. The ‘JRE host’ was skeptical about Brady’s revelation. He also opinionated that Helwani might have bribed this information out of him.

However, this didn’t it well with Helwani, who bashed Rogan on a recent episode of his podcast. He went on a rampage, stating, “First of all, I didn’t get Sean Brady to say that. Sean Brady just offered that up on his own.”

He also fired at Rogan, calling him “Dana’s boy” and accused him stating, “And (that’s) especially rich coming from the guy who was pushing false narratives and false information and fake information and all kinds of nonsense over the past two years to the point where people were demanding that he get dropped from Spotify.”

It was apparent that he was quite sour about Rogan’s words when he called it stupid.

Islam Makhachev vented out his dissatisfaction with the UFC 284 promotion

The UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev, opined that the promotion could have done a lot better regarding the build-up to his UFC 284 main event. Makhachev saw a lack of intent within the UFC authority to promote this fight.

The Lightweight fight between Makhachev and the no.1 pound-for-pound UFC fighter, Alexander Volkanovski, will have both the UFC Lightweight Championship and the UFC no.1 pound-for-pound title on the line.

Looking at such a huge event, Makhachev clearly visualized the UFC’s lethargy in promoting this fight. In an interview with ‘RSport Russia’, ‘the Dagestani’ stated, “I see that it is not such big promotion. Dana White himself has some problems; he does not pay much attention to this fight… In terms of pay-per-view, yes, more could have been done. I only saw Volkanovski once, in Sydney. A tour could be organized around the world, a conference could be held in America.”

A lot of fans also agreed with Makhachev when this news was shared on the Twitter handle of the noted MMA coverage house, ‘MMA Junkie’.
