The UFC San Antonio proved to be an enthraller
The highly touted Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera failed to live up to the expectations of his fans. ‘Chito’ tasted defeat in his UFC San Antonio main event bout at the hands of his opponent, Cory Sandhagen, via a split decision. The bout was a volatile one where each fighter had their own moments. Sandhagen’s game comprised more hand strikes compared to Vera’s, and he managed to land quite a lot of them.

Both fighters put out a display of their courage as neither of them gave up within the stipulated time. Eventually, the three judges at the octagon-side elected Sandhagen as the victor, scoring the bout 49-46, 50-45, and 47-48 in his favor.
The noted UFC Bantamweight, Holly Holm picked up a victory in her return bout. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ put on a superb show for the UFC San Antonio audience with her wrestle-heavy style of fighting in the co-main event of the night. Holm started to take control of the matchup from the second round when she forced her opponent to the ground. Despite failing to get the finish, all three judges scored the bout in her favor awarding her a unanimous decision victory over her opponent, Yana Santos.

Donald Cerrone inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame
The UFC San Antonio also contained a notable announcement apart from the superb fights. Famed former UFC legend, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, was elected to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this year. The Colorado native boasts a remarkable UFC career spanning 11 years where he took the Octagon 38 times.
Cerrone had fought quite a few memorable battles with the elite tier of fighters in the UFC including the noted, Conor McGregor. ‘Cowboy’ looked delighted with his two sons in his arms as the crowd gave a huge pop when the announcement was made.

It’s pertinent to note that Cerrone will be joining the coveted Anderson ‘Spider’ Silva and Jose Aldo as 2023’s UFC Hall of Fame inductees. The ceremony is scheduled to be hosted during International Fight Week in July.
Rafael dos Anjos reveals how much time he has left in the UFC
The famed UFC Welterweight, Rafael dos Anjos, is nearing the twilight of his career. The 38-year-old Brazilian boasts a decorated UFC career which currently consists of 34 bouts.

Recently, RDA took to Twitter and mentioned the remaining terms of his UFC contract along with his future plans. ‘The Brazilian’ wrote, “I’m looking to finish my contact with Ufc, 7 more fights at 170. After that I’m planing to open a gym and teach martial arts. Martial arts changed my life and I’m looking forward to change other people’s life”.
