Dana White has replied to Islam Makhachev’s comments
Dana White and Islam Makhachev have gone back and forth over UFC 284 marketing. The UFC lightweight champion believes that more promotion could have been done on the fight as the pound-for-pound best fighters in the UFC are going head to head for the lightweight crown.
Makhachev said in an interview with Rsports, “I see that it’s not such a big promotion. Dana White himself has some problems; He does not pay much attention to this fight…”

However, White doesn’t resonate with the comments of the UFC champion. Speaking about the issue, the UFC President said, “Taken out of context. First of all, he lives in Dagestan. What does he know about what’s going on for the promotion of the fight? He doesn’t know anything”.
Furthermore, Makhachev has commented about White in another recent interview. The UFC lightweight champion said, “We talk to Dana [White]. We talked with him in the Instagram. We have some plan but I will wait for his answer”.
Looks like the UFC champion and UFC president are still going back and forth over the issue.
