The rap icon, Coolio, took his last breath on 28 September 2022, in Los Angeles, California. The 59-year-old rapper from Pennsylvania reportedly succumbed to a cardiac arrest, resulting in the icon’s death. MMA fans had built a special connection with Coolio as he once startled them by performing at ‘Mystic Mac’, Conor McGregor’s pub in Dublin.

Coolio received huge applauses from the crowd at McGregor’s ‘Black Forge’ pub. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed every song of Coolio and also got into syncing their voices with him whenever they felt like doing so.

Coolio also performed ‘Gangsta Paradise’ in Conor McGregor’s pub

Coolio performed many of his other famous singles, like ‘Fantastic Voyage’ and ‘C U When U Get There’. He topped his performance with his most famous track, ‘Gangsta Paradise’, which got the crowd at McGregor’s bar going.

Events that led to Coolio’s death and aftermath

Coolio’s manager, Jarez, who had been serving him for quite some time, revealed the celebrity visited Los Angeles to meet an acquaintance. While at the meeting, Coolio made his way to the bathroom but didn’t return for an extensive period, which raised suspicions.

Jarez also described to ‘TMZ’ that Coolio’s friend went to check on him after he didn’t respond to his cries after he left for the bathroom. Reports said that Coolio, whose actual name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was declared dead at the scene after his friend had called for the Emergency Services.

The rapper is primarily known for his 1990 hit Gangsta’s Paradise, while he became a global sensation. The well-known song, created for the soundtrack of the successful movie Dangerous Minds, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, became his anthem.

A huge number of people, mostly from the hip-hop community, mourned Coolio’s death. MC Hammer used Twitter to post one of his poignant remarks for his fellow musician. He wrote, “One of the nicest dudes I’ve known. Good people. R.I.P. Coolio.”

LL Cool J also shared a few endearing words for the deceased Coolio o Twitter. He wrote, “Rest in power my brother.@Coolio Love & Respect”

His death has also garnered a lot of reactions from his fans as well. One of them wrote, “Rip To the legend!!! Gangster paradise is one of my favs fr.”, while another one went, “Rest in gangstas paradise.”

It’s needless to say that the untimely death of this rapper has sent many hip-hop fans into mourning.
