Earlier in the year, the fan-favorite UFC lightweight fighter, Bobby Green, tested positive for anabolic androgens. It cost him dearly, as he got a suspension of six months by USADA. He also was pulled off from UFC till the end of his suspension.

Bobby Green’s suspension had a hard impression on the fans. Further, the announcement of his removal from UFC rankings sent the fans into a frenzy.

Bobby Green suspended by USADA

The lightweight fighter, Bobby ‘King’ Green was suspended for six months by the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency). He tested positive for an anabolic androgenic steroidal compound in the urinalysis. The ‘King’ later revealed that he took dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) as a supplement. He claimed to be unaware of the fact it was a banned androgenic product.

Later, Green took responsibility for his actions. He also accepted that it was his fault for testing positive in the drug test. However, DHEA was available in the US as an over-the-counter supplement formulation. Since Green was unaware of the ban, and he cooperated fully with the USADA, he got a reduced suspension of six months. 

“I had no idea, guys, what I was doing. That it was wrong, that there was any benefits to what I was doing. I would never try to cheat”, Green claimed. He also added that he was against drugs and PEDs. 

Bobby Green removed from UFC

The UFC Roster Watch is the first place that updates whenever a fighter gets out of or into the UFC. Green was removed from the rank voting system due to his suspension by the USADA. Doubtlessly, fans went into a frenzy

Fans react to Bobby Green’s removal

Green was the last fighter that Islam Makhachev fought and won against. The win got Makhachev a chance to fight for the lightweight title. In the upcoming UFC 280, Islam will go against Charles Oliveira. However, fans had a lot to say about Makhachev’s title shot. Additionally, fans favored Green and many are hoping for him to come back.

Although Bobby Green was pulled out of his last bout, he is eligible to return after the sixteenth of November. His comeback is indeed anticipated by many of his supporters. While many others were skeptical of Islam Makhachev getting the title shot.
