“Nothing From Dana White Shocks Me Anymore”- Anderson Silva Says He Wants To Fight a UFC Hall of Famer but Dana White Won’t Allow It

Anderson Silva is a former UFC middleweight champion who is now active in the boxing circuit. Ahead of his return to the ring, ‘The Spider’ commented on his relationship with UFC President Dana White and a future boxing fight with Georges St-Pierre on the first episode of MMA Fighting‘s first-ever Portuguese-language podcast Trocaçao Franca.
When asked if he would like to fight Georges St-Pierre, Silva stated, “It’s a possibility.” Georges St-Pierre is a guy that deserves all respect. Not only him but all fighters. Vitor [Belfort], Tito [Ortiz], [Oscar] De La Hoya — they are legends. And I think it would be an interesting fight, but we need the almighty to stop being annoying and let the guy move on.”
Though not clear on who the almighty is, it could be Silva referring to Dana White, who supposedly denied ‘Rush’ the permission to fight in a boxing match.

Silva continued, “Nothing from Dana shocks me, brother. I would like [Dana White] to free him [St Pierre from his contract]. He’s in shape to continue fighting, there’s no reason why you would keep him stuck [there] just for ego. It’s ridiculous. That’s my opinion, it’s ridiculous. Let the guy go.”
If Dana White lets go of St. Pierre’s contract stipulations and permits the fight between these two legends to take place, it would be a dream come true for all MMA fans and would unquestionably be a historical match-up. However, for now, Silva will box another ex-MMA athlete.

‘The Spider’ disclosed his retirement plans in a recent interview with TMZ, saying, “Maybe I can fight more, but right now my goal is when I turn 49, I stop fighting.”
As he is 46 now, he just has a few years left in competition if he wants to stop fighting at 49. Hence, he is making the most of his time and will fight Tito Ortiz this weekend. The duo will compete on the undercard of Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort.

VIDEO: Anderson Silva and Chael Sonne Finally Reconcile After Years of Hatred
This will be his second boxing bout of 2021. Earlier this year, he shared the ring with Julio Cesar Chavez. Given his comments, he wants to fight ‘Rush’, but it will depend on two things. First, his performance against ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ and second, Dana White releasing St-Pierre.
