“That’s When I Will Get…” – Conor McGregor Wannabe Ian Garry Reveals Why Bryan Barberena Fight Never Came to Fruition

The 25-year-old UFC fighter Ian Garry has turned many heads since his very first UFC match against Jordan Williams. With his remarkable record of 10-0, Garry has already proven that he can be the future of MMA. He has already won all three matches he fought in UFC. The young star is now looking forward to getting back to the octagon by the end of February or the beginning of March.

The cage-fighting champion is now all set to add more wins to his record. Nonetheless, the fighter never wants an easy win. He wishes that the strongest fighters, like Bryan Barberena, who has an 18-9 record, would fight against him. However, even after ‘The Future’ called out Barberena, their fights never came to fruition. Finally, the Conor McGregor Irish fighter himself revealed the reason.

 The young Irish fighter had already called out ‘Bam Bam’ last year after he had a massive win against former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. While having an interview with Sun Sport, Garry talked about the reason why he aims for Barberena in particular. The 25-year-old told how Barberena has fought against two former champions. He also won against Garry’s teammate Robbie Lawler, which left the Irish star now wanting to bring back a victory to the team.

Garry recently took to his Instagram account and predicted his future matches. He also mentioned his desire to fight and win against Barberena soon. The Irish fighter also gave a brief explanation on why a match between Garry and Barberena never came to fruition as he anticipated.

On his Instagram handle, Garry saidHere is what’s going to happen. I’m going to fight March 4th against Kenan Song. I’m going to knock his a** out quick and then in five weeks after that fight, UFC come to Miami. From two eight seven. That’s, that’s when I will get Brian Barberena and I will get two Knockouts in 5 weeks and everyone will know why I’m the fu***ing future and that I’m here to show the world how fu***ing good  I am. That’s what’s going to happen. That’s my plan. Watch it come to fruition.The Irish fighter indeed has great plans for his future. He is all set to win all the future matches that come his way in 2023.

‘The Future’ had a phenomenal 2022

Garry’s debut fight in the UFC was at UFC 268 against Jordan Williams, where Williams had to give up to Garry’s strong punches. Williams lost the fight in the very first round itself. The 25-year-old came back to the octagon for a second time to fight against Darian Weeks, and once again he had a great win via decision. Garry’s third fight was in July 2022. It was against Gabriel Green that the Irish star achieved a second victory, this time via decision.

It’s been a while since Garry has returned to the octagon. In the Instagram video, Garry talks about how phenomenal 2022 has been for him. So much happened in the young fighter’s personal and professional life. He got married, had a child, and remained undefeated. However, the UFC community now has to wait and watch to find out if Garry will remain undefeated in 2023 too.
