

One of the most anticipated MMA events of the year was the UFC 264 event scheduled for July 10. The Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier fight was the main event of the night. People were very excited about the fight as they wanted to see who would end up winning the trilogy.

Ever since the fight was announced, people from all over the world have been sharing their views on the same. Everyone expected the fight to be an entertaining affair. And although the fight ended just after 1 round, it was still a splendid affair while it lasted.

Both fighters entered the fight with great gusto, and McGregor looked like he was focusing more on MMA this time around. However, Poirier got a few good kicks in and ultimately got ‘Notorious’ to the ground. McGregor defended well till almost the end of the round. However, when the fighters got back to their feet, they threw punches at each other and they both missed.
At that moment McGregor’s leg snapped, and he fell to the ground in pain. Ultimately referee Herb Dean ended the fight, handing Poirier the win. McGregor clearly wasn’t happy with the result and talked about the same after the fight ended.

What happened in the UFC 264 fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier?
This was the third fight between ‘Notorious’ and ‘The Diamond’, with each of them winning 1 fight apiece. Poirier won their last clash at UFC 257 via a second-round TKO. Therefore, coming into this fight, many believed Poirier to be the favorite.

‘The Diamond’ lived up to the expectations as he dominated ‘Notorious’ throughout their UFC 264 clash. Hence, McGregor has now lost 75% of his last four fights in the UFC.
