Sean O’Malley has never been a boring fighter. He made his debut in 2018 and since then has raked up multiple bonus-worthy finishes. He recently won against Petr Yan at UFC 280. The split decision in O’Malley’s favor was a rather controversial decision. However, he now seems to have set his eyes on his next opponent.

A war of words raged on Twitter when former UFC lightweight champion and Bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo tagged Sean O’Malley and Dana white in a tweet and suggested a fight with O’Malley. The tweet read Hey @danawhite since Denzel Sterling wants to work on his rap career (He can be called Lil Power) How about Me Vs Ronald MethDonald @SugaSeanMMA for a interim in  Australia? I’m short so I’m used to being Down Under.”

Henry Cejudo last fought Dominick Cruz defending his UFC Bantamweight title on May 9th, 2020. Although he soon announced retirement. There were widespread speculations, though, that a comeback was very much on cards.

O’Malley has also responded to Cejudo’s tweet. The tweet hints towards his next opponent and looks like it’s ‘Chito’ Vera. ‘Sugar’ recently tweetedId rather fight someone who deserves it like Chito.O’Malley was talking about Marlon Vera, who currently is ranked #4 in the UFC Bantamweight rankings.

O’Malley is known for his swift and sleek striking. He last fought against Vera in August 2020. Vera came out victorious in Round 1. Sean O’Malley was diagnosed with a drop leg. It resulted from a well-placed kick from Vera. ‘Sugar’ O’Malley fighting Marlon Vera will be a delicious rematch. O’Malley will be eager to redeem himself while Marlon Vera will think of consolidating his supremacy.

O’Malley has also sent out a short tweet that may be read in the same context. He tweetedI’m hungry.” It is clear he is ready for a fight and is hungry for more. It is to be seen how the match pans out. Henry Cejudo may get back in the game. A fight with Sean O’Malley will definitely be good for his career if he is aiming for a comeback. Sean O’Malley, however, seems inclined towards fighting Marlon Vera, who he feels is more deserving. Fans see a lot of potential in Sean O’Malley, while critics may say he is in for a reality check soon.
