Unconventional Mental Training From Jiri Prochazka Has Glover Teixeira, Kamaru Usman, and Fans in Disbelief- “He’s Gonna Need 3 Weeks After He Fights Poatan”

Jiri Prochazka has gathered a lot of attention from the combat community specifically for his unorthodox training methods. The way Prochazka trains highly resembles the spirit of a samurai even the community accepts him as the modern version of an ancient samurai. It is rather amusing to witness his training since Prochazka believes in mental power as much as physical power.

Prochazka trains to the extreme levels. The Czech Republican has time and time again surprised everyone with his actions. Notably in one instance, the fighter went into a deep slumber in the darkness for three days which caused an uproar in the community. Let us understand why Prochakza did that.

Jiri Prochazka has been a monumental figure in the realm of UFC specifically due to his modern samurai demeanor. The former light heavyweight champion is set to fight against the former middleweight champion Alex Pereira for the coveted light heavyweight title. Both of these fighters are set to headline the UFC main event.

As the date of the match is coming closer we are reminded of the time when Prochazka locked himself in a room for an extended period of 3 days after his fight against Glover Teixeira. Why? As per Prochazka, he was conquering his demons after the fight.

Prochazka said via ‘The MMA Hour’ “That’s all in darkness for three days, and there you can work with your demons and train what you want…. It’s much more strong when you’re without food. All the processes in your body is much stronger. Your mind’s working a lot, and you have to die here first.”

He started incorporating the samurai techniques after his coach gave him a book named ‘The Book of Five Rings’ almost a decade back and since then, Prochazka has incorporated the way of the samurai in his training. His actions have left the community as well as fellow fighters perplexed.

Mixed reactions from fans and fellow fighters on Jiri Prochazka training methods

Jiri Prochazka’s three-day retreat in the dark rooms without food has left the fans as well as his fellow fighters questioning his methods. They took to Instagram to express their opinion on such training.

The Brazilian sensation, Johnny Walker added a rather funny opinion on Prochazka’s training. He stated, “I do this too , but I use magic mushroom”. The welterweight goat Kamaru Usman also jumped the bandwagon and added a simple “Why” to the equation.  Prochazka’s former opponent and Alex Pereira’s Coach, Glover Teixeira made a statement ” That was after he fought me. He’s gonna need 3 weeks after he fights Poatan”. 

Some of the other comments from the fans are as follows:-

One of the fans sarcastically stated that he also does the same but just because he is poor.

I do that because I’m poor.

Another fan seems to be bullish on Pereira as he claims that ‘Poatan’s left hook will force Prochazka to forget about his training.

All his training will be forgotten when the first left hook lands on his chin 

Furthermore, one of the fans inquired how this training made Prochazka better.

Last but not least one of the fans(probably a Woman) stated that men will do everything except therapy.
