Holm vs Rousey had a similar ending to their intense match-up

The sequence in which Ferreira finished Lindsey is being compared to Holly Holm’s head-kick TKO of Ronda Rousey. Holm and Rousey had an intense rivalry leading up to the fight with the event breaking the record of the most attended event at that time. The bout turned out to be Rousey’s first loss in her MMA career as she got knocked down by a head kick and eventually got finished by a series of strikes on the ground.

Ronda Rousey who started as a heavy favorite leading to the event started the fight aggressively. However, Holm, who undoubtedly was a better striker, outclassed her. After a frustrating first round for Rousey, Holm’s kick eventually hurt her. Holly followed this with some strikes that led to referee Herb Dean stopping the fight. The win helped the former kickboxer secure her first UFC Bantamweight title.

The flashy way in which Ferreira finished her opponent would clearly be among the best KOs of the night. But will the fighter move in the same direction as Holly Hom? Only time will tell.
