Samantha Diaz started off her public performances at a rather unusual place. She used to busk on various subways in New York City prior to her ‘American Idol’ glory. This busking was also Diaz’s only outlet for income, who comes from a poor family. After watching her bank accounts getting emptied, ‘Just Sam’ chose to make money in her old ways once again.

Diaz’s superb virtues to start over again caught Sterling’s eye. ‘Funk Master’ uploaded two pieces of Instagram stories dedicated to the ‘2020 American Idol champ’.

In his first story, the ‘Jamaican-American’ gave out his opinion about ‘Just Sam’. It read, “Just to specify, I know she can get a better and stable job. But it’s not my place to judge how ppl want to live. We all have our own lane. I wouldn’t sing in a subway station because I can’t sing for[s**t emoji] lol. It’s the humility part I respect bc many people would duck and hide and pretend that they “still got it””.

It was evident that ‘Just Sam’s’ attitude of being humble toward her art even amid such adverse situations pleased Sterling. Most MMA fighters also need to be extremely dedicated to their art.

Aljamain Sterling’s second story was in praise of Just Sam’s courage to accept vulnerability

Even after being the champion of one of the most noted singing reality shows in the US, it was quite unbecoming of ‘Just Sam’ to sing on a subway. Further, it could have also subjected her to various types of comments from passerby people. But Diaz was courageous enough to leave all of that thoughts aside and return to her roots of subway busking.

Aljamain Sterling lauded this quality of Diaz to make herself vulnerable to the world once more, even after her significant achievement. ‘Funk Master’ also shared a post from ‘The Shade Room’ as his Instagram story, which showcased Diaz singing on subways once more.

The caption of Sterling’s second story-piece dedicated to ‘Just Sam’ read, “It takes a different kind of humility and humbleness to bring yourself to being this vulnerable. I respect her for looking out for her and starting all over again.”
