Previously, UFC boss Dana White said “Jon Jones is ready to go.” He revealed on ‘The Jim Rome Show‘ “We’re just waiting for an opponent. It’s either going to be Francis [Ngannou] depending on how long his knee is going to take to recover or Stipe Miocic.”
He thus confirmed that Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic were two candidates worthy of facing ‘Bones’.

About that knee, Ngannou said “I’m not very strong on that knee yet,” and added “See how heavy I am. That’s something I really have to consider — my weight and this division and how it is.”
The current heavyweight champion revealed he is working to get back to the Octagon in early 2023. He is currently undergoing ACL reconstructive surgery.
