Khabib’s father had a dream which the fighter fulfilled. However, the dream wasn’t easy to achieve. Khabib Nurmagomedov, along with his father, had to put in years of hard work. By remaining undefeated throughout his professional MMA career and becoming the lightweight champion, the Russian fighter fulfilled his father’s dream.

While Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is no more, people still talk about him while discussing Khabib’s success. After all, his relentless efforts pushed ‘The Eagle’ to new heights. In an old video on YouTube, Khabib’s father can be seen looking quite emotional while watching his son fight.

Khabib had faced Al Iaquinta in the octagon and won through a unanimous decision. With this victory, he became the UFC lightweight champion. Unfortunately, his father could not accompany and corner him. During the in-ring interview, the fighter had expressed that he was sad that his father wasn’t present in the venue with him.

Watching his son become the champion would have definitely been an emotional moment for Abdulmanap.

Khabib, being a devoted son, not only completed his father’s wish but also adopted his role. He retired as the champion and now coaches his teammates. He mentors them as well as attends their fights.

Khabib Nurmagomedov: His way to the top

Khabib started his professional MMA career back in 2008. After fighting under several promotions, he fought his first UFC fight in 2012. He later defeated Al Iaquinta and became the champion.

However, it was after this that he had the biggest fight of his career; the Conor McGregor fight. He successfully defeated the Irish fighter and overpowered Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje as well.
