UFC heavyweight superstar Derrick Lewis indeed made an emphatic statement at UFC 291. Hailing from New Orleans, Lewis laid down the law inside the octagon as he sheerly dominated Marcos Rogerio de Lima by a knockout. What’s more captivating is that the fight only lasted for 33 seconds, courtesy of Lewis’ flying knee, which was enough to set the bottom line.
But did you know? With the end of this bout, Lewis’ contract with UFC head honcho Dana White has now expired. Well, he also had an answer for that since he was asked about it in a YouTube Interview.

While talking to renowned sports journalist and comic Dave Schmulenson, Lewis shared the scoop about his future plans. He told him what he was looking forward to since his contract with the UFC expired. Initiating the conversation with a wit, Schmulenson put a straightforward question in front of him. He asked, “So where do we go from here, black beast? You really told the world that you are waiting for a new contract, you want to come back to the UFC. Where do we go?”
‘The Black Beast’s’ response to that was quite plain and simple. He replied, “Yeah, we will see how everything goes. I am going to go home to celebrate with my family, then we will make a decision then so we will see.”

Lewis outlined his desire to return to his family and celebrate. Due to his need to spend time with his family back home, he will plan to make his return later. He clearly communicated through his words that he was eager to see how everything turns out. However, this triumph was much needed for the heavyweight star, as he was on a three-loss streak prior to that. Being in the limelight with such a quick victory, Lewis had also received the same in the past after his solid body transformation surfaced in front of the fans on social media.
What was Lewis’s body transformation like?
Back in February this year, Lewis was set to face Sergey Spivak at UFC Vegas, 68. Lewis, who was on a two-loss streak, drastically altered his physique and shed 95 lbs. Additionally, an Instagram handle of a renowned sports page, Combat Sports 247, displayed the outcome of his weight loss as an image.
