As UFC 269 looms right around the corner, “The Lioness” Amanda Nunes engaged in a war of words with her opponent Julianna Pena. At the pre-event press conference of the PPV, Amanda Nunes gave it back to “The Venezuelan Vixen” for all the trash talk.
When asked about Pena’s comments regarding her not having been tested, the bantamweight champion said, “She’s delusional. What about her best friend, Miesha Tate? What about Sara McMann? You know, Sara McMann almost beat her. Sara McMann gave up in the fight. If she didn’t give up, she would have beat Julianna, you know. But I beat Sara McMann years ago. You know what I mean.”

Sara McMann and Miesha Tate both have fought and lost to Amanda Nunes in the past. While ‘Cupcake’ lost at UFC 200, McMann lost at UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs Saint Preux.
The Brazilian striker, who also happens to be at the top of UFC women’s pound-for-pound rankings, doesn’t really care about her opponent’s words as she believes that the third-ranked fighter from her division poses no threat over her dominion.
“So, I feel like she can talk whatever she wants. I feel like she have to do that to be able to like bring all the attention, but like, but I’m going to tell her, she can have all the attention she wants. All of it. Because Saturday is my night baby. December is my month. So, nobody’s going to take this belt from me.”
