The famed commentator questioned collegiate football for not trickling down the riches to the athletes. Notably, the podcaster expressed his concerns surrounding the dazzling world of the NFL on his popular podcast. In addition, Rogan pointed out how a minor mishap might put an end to aspiring athletes’ dreams, as he dug deep into the ‘selling of the football’.

Markedly, the 55-year-old sat down with Eddie Huang in the ep. #1962 of The Joe Rogan Experience. In one segment, the duo discussed the ripple effect LeBron James’ contract negotiations had on various other sports. While the basketball star demanded and penned a lucrative deal, it pushed other athletes to bargain for better pay. Collegiate football experienced the same effect, given the ridiculous money they amassed.

These comments assume a greater significance after the recent tragic death of Ryan Keeler, a UNLV football player. While the cause of his death is unknown, the defensive lineman had just finished his freshman season.

The guest pointed out an enormous scandal that took place involving Adidas and Louisville. And as a result, the concerned authorities realized they had to ensure better pay for the young athletes.

In response, the UFC associate suggested athletes shouldn’t just get paid but get rich instead. Thus, he said, “They should really get rich or they’re getting ripped off. So, if they don’t pay him, that’s one thing.”

The standup comic seconded his guest’s postulation when Huang implied the possibility of dying while playing the sport. Further, he alluded to the young super athletes who were hungry to live their NFL dream.

Thus, he stated, “They’re trying to put on a show. They’re trying to win f*king games because if they do win, they are picturing buying their mother a house.”
